Check the general condition of the vehicle, paying particular attention to the following
points.
- Condition and tread depth of tires.
- Operation of lights and signals.
- Interior conditions:
- Operation of seat belts.
- Operation of doors and windows.
- Proper anchorage of seats.
- Exterior conditions:
- Condition of license plates.
- Condition of mirrors.
- Condition of windshield and windshield wiper components.
- Proper functioning of the steering system.
- Noise level.

- Check the presence, condition and operation of all lights.
- Check the condition of the tires.
- Exterior conditions checks include:
- Condition of chains, seat and fender.
- Presence and condition of grips.
- Condition of the license plate.
- Presence and condition of mirrors.
- Condition of the handlebars and hand levers.
- Engine and transmission:
- Noise level.
- Condition of the transmission.
- Oil leaks.
Everyone must have a l Registration Certificate, Technical data sheet (Vehicle Inspection Card) proof of payment of vehicle's compulsory insurance (in Catalonia: also required is the driver's DNI)
Subsequent actions
It is important to always correct any detected faults.
If the deficiencies are minor, you won't need to repeat the inspection, but you will have to repair them as soon as possible.
If defects are significant, you will need to repeat the ITV within the next two months.
You are required to keep the Vehicle Inspection Report, as well as the results of second inspection, if necessary, together with the vehicle registration documentation.
