Frequently asked questions
Can I have my ITV inspection in Biscay if my car is registered in Gipuzkoa?
Yes. The technical inspection can be carried out at any authorised ITV station in Spain, regardless of the province in which the vehicle is registered. The result is recorded in the national database and has the same validity.
Does it cost more to have the ITV inspection in Biscay than in Gipuzkoa?
No. ITV rates in the Basque Country are regulated and are the same throughout the autonomous community.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we recommend booking an appointment online. You can check the current availability at the Arrigorriaga station and choose a date and time through the booking system.
What should I do if my ITV expires and I cannot find an appointment nearby?
You can book at any other station with availability, even if it is in another province. Driving with an expired ITV is an offence that can result in a fine, so it is advisable to book the first available appointment at another station rather than wait.
How long does an ITV inspection take in Arrigorriaga?
With an appointment, the inspection of a passenger car usually takes around 30 minutes from the booked time.
