¿Cómo pasar la ITV a la primera?
Before taking your vehicle for its ITV inspection, you can follow these simple steps to avoid unnecessary waiting and make sure your vehicle is in better condition for the technical inspection.
Once you receive notification that your vehicle is due for its ITV inspection, either on your mobile phone or by post, you should book an appointment for your ITV inspection.
Once your appointment has been confirmed, we recommend checking a few points on your vehicle yourself before coming to see us.
- First, visually inspect the bodywork to make sure there are no deformations or sharp edges.
- You should also check that the rear-view mirrors are in good condition.
- Make sure the doors open and close without any problems.
- Check that the seat belts work properly.
- Make sure the windows are in good condition, especially the windscreen, which must not have any cracks or impact damage on the driver's side.
- Sit in the front of the vehicle and sound the horn. Check that the windscreen wipers work and that there is enough fluid in the washer reservoir.
- You should also check the vehicle's lights. Bear in mind that 29% of vehicles that fail the ITV inspection do so because of lighting defects.
- Finally, take a look at the tyres to check the tread depth and make sure they are not deformed, as 20% of cars have tyre-related problems.
- If your vehicle has a diesel engine, check that the oil level is correct.
- When you visit one of our ITV stations, you must bring:
- The vehicle technical inspection card
- The vehicle registration document
- Proof of valid insurance
…so that we can carry out the inspection and check that your car is safe, efficient and environmentally compliant.
